Work-learn balance – a new concept that could help bridge the divide between education and working life?

There is a deep divide between the worlds of education and working life. Differences comprise culture, values, processes, tools more. This hinders many people from reaching their fullest potential, instead often demotivating them. Collaboration across can be facilitated by semantic concepts that both sides relate to. article attempts to propose new unifying concept – “work-learn balance” two appreciate use when together. It defined as on weekly basis combine value creation for others (“work”) own personal development (“learn”). was inductively articulated through action research. Extant research has shown with good work-learn balance get more motivated feel deeper sense meaning in life, making them work harder achieve Examples are provided entrepreneurship, innovation, vocational entrepreneurial education. Work-learn could used visionary organising principle informing leadership strategy. facilitate collaboration unleash human potential students employees. novel unexplored, but not previously unheard of. first attempt define, describe, substantiate sense-make it.
